When: Sunday December 18, 2005, 8:15am to 2:00pm
Where: Osgoode Hall - Law Society of Upper Canada Cafeteria
Together with some of the regular volunteers at Osgoode Hall's “Feed the Hungry” program, eight NewPath members helped to serve a hot breakfast and bagged lunch to 246 people in need! It was a moving and very self-fulfilling experience for the volunteers, many of whom plan to make this a regular part of their 2006 schedule.
Program Background: In 1998, a program was launched at Osgoode Hall to provide a hot meal to Toronto's homeless and needy. The program began with the serving of one meal a week. It soon became apparent that the plight of Toronto's homeless and hungry could not be met with only one meal per week and the program was expanded. Today, the program serves meals on Wednesday evenings, Thursday mornings and on Sundays at noon.
